About me

I'm a professional software developer living and working in the East Midlands, UK.

I started university in 2006, and spent 3 years trying out different strands of engineering before I finally found my love for programming and software development in 2009. In 2013 I graduated with a 1st Class BSc (Hons) in Computer Science, and have been working as a full-stack .NET developer ever since.

Since graduating, I've spent the majority of my career building systems for companies working in the Healthcare and Pharmaceutical industry in both the UK and USA. Projects I've worked on include simple digital sales aids, project collaboration tools and knowledgebases, nurse scheduling systems, and surgical instrument sterilisation track and trace systems.

In 2017 I was given the opportunity to do something I'd never even considered that I could/would ever do - I wrote a book! I massively underestimated the work involved, and after much stress and many all-nighters, it was finally published in July 2018. If you're interested, you can find it for sale here. Although I know if I had the opportunity to go back and write it again I could do a much better job than the first time around, it's still a massive achievement for me, and certainly one that I'd like to follow up on in the future.

As of December 2019 I have now left the world of permanent employment, and set my self up as a self-employed software contractor. I am currently working for the National Careers Service in Coventry, at least until the end of June 2020. If you are interested in working with me, please don't hesitate to get in touch!
